Pier Ann Patterson Brown BSc. PT, RPT, CKTI
For over 30 years, Pier Ann has been doing what she loves and loving what she does, Physiotherapy. She received her Diploma in Physiotherapy, UHWI School of PT (1991) and a BSc.PT in 2010 from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica. She holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Geriatric Care Management from the University of Florida. She is an American Breast Care Certified Post- mastectomy Bra Fitter. A Certified Kinesio Taping Instructor since 2011 and a member of the Research Committee of Kinesio Taping Association International. She revels in the transformative impact of the Kinesio Taping Method in the lives of many individuals. She recently completed the IOC Diploma in Sports Physiotherapies (2021) and the IOC Certificate in Mental Health in Elite Sport (2022). As founder and CEO of Therapeutic Touch, Mrs. Brown has the distinct pleasure of activating her passion daily. She has served at STH (1993-95), was Head of the PT Dept. at May Pen Hospital (2003-4) and was Acting-Head of Dept. at the Mandeville Regional Hospital (2011-2015).
Mrs. Brown is currently the Treasurer of JASM. She has served as President of the Central Chapter of the JASM (2017- 19). She has represented as Team PT for both Jamaica's National junior and senior track and field teams at several regional and international events, from CARIFTA Games to the Summer Olympics. A dedicated member of the Jamaica Physiotherapy Association where she has served as President (2013-2015). She enjoys reading, philately, travelling and gives service in her parish through the Lions Club of Clarendon, (President 2021-22).
