Ruchelle Brown Calvert MBBS, MSc Sports Medicine
Dr Ruchelle Brown Calvert, is a Sports Medicine Physician and Lecturer at the Mona Academy of Sport, in the Faculty of Sport, at the University of the West Indies. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) and a Master of Science in Sports Medicine from the UWI. She is also the Head of the Section of Sports and Exercise Medicine that provides oversight for the daily operations of the UWI Sports Medicine Clinic Dr. Calvert has been a dedicated member of the Jamaica Association of Sports Medicine for the past 7 years, volunteering her services at a number of sporting events both locally and internationally. A graduate of Wolmer's Girls; School, Dr Calvert strives for excellence, living by her High school motto: "Age Quod Agis"- ("Whatever you do, do it well") and is motivated by the outcome of good teamwork, recognising that "Team work makes the dream work". Not surprisingly, 'teamwork' and 'excellence' early ingrained in her, are both today reflected in her involvement with team sports.
